The Spring 2017 Kansans Can and Do! Symposium is co-sponsored by the Kansas State Department of Education and the Kansas Association of Education Service Agencies and is designed to assist administrators, administrative teams, and school leaders with the process of implementing the Kansans Can initiative. The symposium presentations, facilitated discussions, and collaboration time will focus on facilitating high levels of conversation.

Commissioner of Education Dr. Randy Watson and Associate Commissioner Brad Neuenswander will set the stage for achieving the State Board’s vision and accreditation. Session strands will focus on the five KSBE Kansans Can! goals:

  • Kindergarten Readiness
  • Individual Plans of Study (IPL)
  • Social Emotional
  • Graduation Rates
  • Postsecondary Success

Session presenters include Kansas educators, KAESA consultants, and KSDE staff who will share their experiences with the effective integration of the Kansans Can goals.

The symposium will also feature a postsecondary panel made up of individuals representing the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR), community colleges, technical colleges, and registered apprenticeship programs.
